DID YOU KNOW?

Back in the days I was a Comedy Magician, Ventriloquist and Balloon Twister.

This treasured photo shows my receiving help from a delighted seven-year-old as I (in my twenties) prepare to push a knife through a balloon at an entertainment program celebrating the final day of a summer reading program.

I performed 850+ magic shows from the age of 13 until year 2000.

I performed my first magic show at the age of 13 for a family audience of about 75. My mother would lovingly drive around town with my magic table and items to perform shows.

In 1995 I added a ventriloquist birthday routine to my shows with Diggy the Dinosaur. I had several live rabbits I would care for in the house basement, and take along on many shows. I even took my pet friend Oscar the Leopard Gecko lizard to a few shows.

I twisted balloon animals as part of many shows, as well as being hired to solely twist balloons where I would twist 60-75 single balloon animals an hour.

During the height of performing, from receiving calls from the yellow pages (remember those), there were times I'd have two or three shows back to back on a Saturday, and many times five or more shows during the period of a week. I also performed for company award banquets where I would write customized bits for the awardees.

I had a cell phone (not Smartphone) that was a life saver for all the driving I did to places I never traveled. This was when it cost around $75 a month for the cell service for 60-minutes of time. During a short time I even performed as a clown, and occasionally Santa Claus.

😀 Thanks for stopping by and reading. Best! Grant Wuellner. 😀
